$10,000 Grant to Help United Way of South Texas
In a year of tremendous change, Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation has generously supported United Way of South Texas with a $10,000 grant. The purpose of the grant is to offset administrative costs so that more of the money raised in the 2009 Campaign will be invested in vital social service programs.
The United Way of South Texas supports numerous programs through 24 partner agencies. These programs range in services from counseling to after school programs. Additional funds support emerging needs in the areas of education, increasing CHIP enrollment, and transportation vouchers to increase access to medical appointments, to applying for jobs, and to meeting other basic needs.
The mission of The Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation is to build strong and vibrant communities, improve the quality of life, and make a positive difference. It is a private foundation providing grants to eligible 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organizations to support these focus areas: education, community development, health and human services, arts and culture, the environment, and civic life.
Thank you for helping us help our people here at home.
This is how we “Live United.”
